Contemporary Beadwork in Ukraine

Maria Rypan will be presenting "Contemporary Beadwork in Ukraine", gleaned from four
trips to Ukraine, two in the past year. She will also present a Trunk Show of Rypan
Designs bedwork kits, patterns, and books.

Nastasiya Marusyk-Zhmendak will display her gerdany "beaded necklaces" and bead-embroidered blouses "'sorochky" from her Bukovynian collection.

Art Exhibition by Alexander Telalim
August 21 through September 12, 2009

Alexander Telalim, was born in Izmail, Bessarabia, in today’s Ukraine, to a family of Bessarabian Bulgarians. Specializing in Fresco style paintings at the National Art Academy in Sofia, Alexander Telalim has had over 50 group and solo exhibitions in Japan, France, Germany, the US, Ukraine and Bulgaria.

Annual Banquet of the Ukrainian National Musuem

The Annual Banquet of the Ukrainian National Musuem will be held on Sunday, September 27th at 1:00 pm. The banquet will be held at the Ukrainian Cultural Center located at 2247 West Chicago Ave., Chicago, Illinois 60622.

An Exhibit of works in pastel by Tatijana Jacenkiw

Tatijana Jacenkiw, a local artist, celebrates her artistic talent and her Ukrainian heritage in her work. Working primarily in pastels, the artist successfully captures the essence, tells a story, and conveys a mood by using her imaginative techniques of mixing colors, layering cross hatching and strokes that give her work iridescence. Tatiajana’s work, while mostly figurative, also includes florals, still life, and landscapes. Her emotional connection with her subject matter is evident her beautiful and unique paintings.

An Exhibit of Sculpture and Paintings

The sculpture of Leonid Kozlov - The paintings of Dmytro Dobrowolskyj. - Leonid Kozlov, a Ukranian sculptor and artist known for his graceful bronze figures captured in ballet poses will exhibit his sculptures at the Ukrainian National Museum during December. Leonid Kozlov’s bronzes capture the fluid energy of his subject and carry the observer into the world of beauty and movement. - Dmytro Dobrowolsky, an artist from Ukrainian, will showcase his paintings. The artist is known for his technique of painting oil on color backgrounds using a palette knife Dmytro Dobrowolsky has developed his own mosaic technique using contrasting colors that reflect color, light and shadow. The artist has exhibited in many international galleries and museums in the United Kingdom, Germany and Estonia.
